Mobility in Brad, Romania
In the week 4th - 8th of April, 2022, Liceul Teoretic „Avram Iancu” Brad is hosting the first Short-term exchange of groups of pupils, entitled „Hypostasis of water”, in the framework of the Erasmus+ project (N)EVER (S)TOP SAVING h2o FOR LIFE; TRUE WATER WARRIORS in SCHOOLS (2020 – 2023), project code: 2020-1-CZ01-KA229-078295_2. We are welcoming our friends from Stredni zemedelska skola a Stredni odborna skola Podebrady, prispevkova organizace (Czech Republic), Mehmetçik Anadolu Lisesi (Turkey) and 2nd Lykeio of Agios Nikolaos (Greece). Our friends from Centro San Juan Bosco - FP Juan Solé – Salesianos Cartagena (Spain) and Lycée polyvalent Jean Joly (France) are attending the meeting virtually.
The main aims of the meeting are: learning about the natural state of water, the state of water transformation; understanding the spread and role of water in nature, in the life of plants, animals, and humans; discovering the properties of water, studying water from an interdisciplinary point of view; evaluating the risk factors involved in the use of industrial water.
Monday the 4th of april
Wellcome at school
On the first day of the project, the participants were invited to our school. Here, they had a tour of the school and a warm welcome. The students participated in ice-breaking activities, and the teachers learned about the Romanian education system and good practices of sustainable water use. At the end of the day, at school, the participants had lunch in a special place, in an artificial salt mine.

Tuesday the 5th of april
The second day was full of interesting activities. In the field of water, students and teachers visited S.C.Apaprod S.A. Deva, the largest water distributor in Hunedoara county, but also a water bottling plant in the village of Boholt. In addition to these project-specific objectives, they enjoyed the beauty of the Corvin's Castle, the Deva fortress and Giardini di Zoe, one of the most beautiful flower gardens.
Wednesday the 6th of april
April 6 was the day of a long journey. The first stop consisted of visiting the Turda salt mine, a spectacular underground world. The participants learned that this salt mine has multiple benefits: prophylactic, therapeutic and medical recovery. The second stop was at Turda Gorge, one of the most beautiful and impressive gorges in Romania, created by water, a very good opportunity for hiking.
The first part of the day of April 7 was a very traditional one, the participants made a short trip to the village of Stănija where they visited a small water bottling factory, toured the house of the Gold Digger and hiked to the Săritoarea Waterfall. The lunch was 100% traditional, in the same village. In the second part of the day, the participants visited the Scarisoara Cave, the home of the largest underground glacier in Romania.

Friday the 8th of april
Friday: back to school! The students participated in artistic activities and the teachers participated in a meeting of the coordinators about future mobilities. The Czech team visited Grohot Gorge, an extraordinary natural bridge, and others visited the Gold Museum in the city of Brad. The end of the mobility was celebrated with a beautiful festive dinner where the participants received certificates of participation and said goodbye to each other.
